Building Knowledge and Community

Our Mission

Founded in 2019, Project Atom was created to expand educational opportunities for children of all backgrounds beyond the traditional bounds of a classroom.

Our engaging, hands-on teaching strategy covers integral concepts from subjects like biology, philosophy, economics, forensics, political science, physics, music, creative writing, and research. Thus, we foster a well-rounded educational experience where students are introduced to subjects they may not have otherwise been exposed to through active discussions and fun activities.

We also provide guidance on college essay prep, ACT/SAT training, and personal finance to ensure students have the tools to succeed in college and beyond.

We recognize the disparities that women, people of color, and immigrants face in academia, particularly in STEM-related fields. One of our most central priorities is to create a learning environment where all students gain the confidence and skills to achieve their goals, whatever that may look like. Project Atom volunteers are dedicated to forming community and lasting mentorships with students to accomplish this.

3%

Amongst our Migrant population, we see how educational ineptitudes are propagated as a result of the complex intercultural and socioeconomic challenges of relocating. Project Atom works to â€‹diminish this gap by providing mentorship and community for our migrant population to reduce the barriers students have to receiving a good education. We work with schools and institutions to corroborate this effort.
